TheMunicipal Port Authority of Chios is themanaging body of 19 port infrastructures located throughout the prefecture of Chios. It has its headquarters in the main harbor of Chios. The capital of the island is Chios city, located to the east, which houses the main harbor. Chios has two ports of cruise service, the main port on the east of the island, and the port of Mesta in the southwest. The main port of Chios is attached to the city. It operates 24 hours a day and has an approved Port Facility Safety Plan in accordance with the ISPS code, guard services and passenger’s waiting room. It can accommodate a cruise ship with a maximum length of 250 meters, on one of its 2 jetties. The port of Mesta is a modern port infrastructure that was completed in 2015. It operates 24 hours a day and has an approved Port Facility Security Plan in accordancewith the ISPS code, guard services andwaiting shelters for passengers. It can serve at the same time either 2 cruise ships of 150 meters each, or one c/s of 250 meters.
