ALEXANDROUPOLIS Port of Alexandroupolis The port of Alexandroupolis is located in the north-eastern part of Greece and at its most remote point, having a strategic position advantage, since it is connected to the Egnatia road and to the Thessaloniki-Turkish-Bulgarian borders railway line. It is only a short distance (4 km) from the airport “Demokritos”. It is 840 km away from Athens, 340 km away from Thessaloniki and 295 km away from Constanti- nople. The port has one 300m long dock and 7m draft for approaching cruise ships with a shipwreck circle of about 400m. The cruise ship receiving facilities are provided with the necessary services under an approved “Port Facility Security Plan” that complies with all ISPS Code of Con- duct Terms. There is a possibility of water supply and waste collecting services.
