Benaki museum Pireos street annex
Three years after the successful exhibition "Aivali, a journey in time" (12/2 - 15/5 2015), the Benaki Museum hosts again the comics creator Soloup on the occasion of his new graphic novel "The Collector, Six Stories for a Bad Wolf" (Icaros editions).
The exhibition includes graphic novel’s original material (storyboards, drafts, and pencil sketches, black-white and colored pages). In addition, constructions, illustrations and paintings animate the six narratives of the book, offering to visitors a unique visual experience. Exhibition’s main aspiration is the reinterpretation of the "Little Red Riding Hood". Soloup’s new graphic novel re-tells the fairy tale narrated by the Grimm brothers in their second version. Interlocutors in Soloup’s new reading are the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit from Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" (based on John Tenniel’s sketches). The Collector, a modern adult graphic fairytale, talks about the parental alienation of children after a divorce and at the same time proposes the faith in rapprochement. The exhibition includes also workshops, concerts, and other activities. More information will be announced shortly.
